Wanstead Golf Club

Wanstead Golf Club currently has some 650 members comprising of full, midweek, lifestyle, lady, junior, senior and social members. Of special interest is that Sir Winston Churchill was an Honorary member and to date the club has provided 3 Ryder Cup Professionals from its ranks (Percy Alliss, Alan Dailey and Lionel Platts). In 1946 Jean Hetherington, club member won the Ladies Open Championship. Additionally Darren Lee won the Amateur Medal in the 1996 British Open and Simon Khan, twice European Tour winner, is a former club member.

Wanstead Golf Club has a Challenging 18 holes, set in beautiful parkland.  The course has hosted many of the major events in the Essex County calendar and is the home of the prestigious Armitage Cup.

Visitors & Societies are welcome all day on Weekdays and on Weekend afternoons. 
  • Handicap certificates are not required but a reasonable skill level is expected!
  • Each player must have their own set of clubs and be dressed in golf attire
  • Visiting golfers should be aware of the latest R&A Rules and Guidelines
  • Please also respect our Local Rules and club Dress Code.

This friendly club has a recently refurbished club house offering full restaurant and bar facilities for members and guests.
